PLEASURE RIOT is a single channel video projection of a dance choreographed by Jos Mc Kain and a stereo broadcast of a dialog between myself and artist, theorist, and former ACT UP member Alexandra Juhasz. The stylized configurations of the performer’s bodies metamorphose from cautious formalism to direct sexual encounter as Alexandra and I discuss how the epidemic shaped our relationships to each other, our individual sexualities and artistic practices. Pleasure Riot was performed by Jos Mc Kain, Bryatt Bryant and Gregory Barnett and premiered at the Queer Biennial in Los Angeles in 2014.
